Dampfzentrale Bern sees itself as a cultural meeting place for the public and the art scene, representing artistic positions with national and international impact.

Extending, expanding, experiencing and experimenting within pop. The transdisciplinary festival brings together multiple projects over two evenings that transcend divisions into disciplines and genres.
“Tanz in Bern” stands for exciting and trendy, sophisticated and enjoyable, high-quality and professional international dance. The festival, held annually in autumn, always follows a thematic motto.
One can lose hope in the face of hateful debates, the supposed or actual raging culture war, and the division into us and them. Especially in light of these horrors, a deep longing is revealed. We all yearn for a good life. And the second part of that wish is: in a peaceful society!
Together, collectively, in unison – ensemble is the theme of the 2024 festival.
Everything moves, reshapes, connects, and dissolves again. The bubbles reflect this constant interplay between individual and community: a dynamic togetherness, a continual coming into being and passing away.
We all know them from our daily lives: the queue that doesn’t move or the noise that wears on our nerves. We’d prefer to eliminate such forms of inner and outer unrest immediately, as doing so would instantly improve our well-being.
Change your perspective! That’s the call of the moment. We are encouraged to shift our view of things from time to time. This invitation may carry a sense of instability, but behind it lies the belief that changing one’s viewpoint is valuable and important, as it fosters understanding of others and other perspectives.
